Mark your calendar for National Library Week!

The week of April 8th-14th is National Library Week, and the East Lansing Public Library is gearing up for a week of events culminating in a Books, Bites and Bids fundraiser on Friday, April 13 from 6-8 p.m. (open to all book lovers)!

The fundraiser will include a silent auction, appetizers courtesy of Grand Grillin’, live music by the MSU Community Music School and family activities hosted by students with the Michigan State University College of Education, including hula hoops, putting greens, “bowling,” face painting and outdoor games.

At 7 p.m. there will be a short program facilitated by ELPL Director Kristin Shelley and live auction items with the evening’s emcee, Jason Colthorp from WILX. Special guests that will be stopping by include all-star MSU running back T.J. Duckett and the most famous mascot in the world, Sparty.

Donations are $30 each for adults or $50 for a couple/family. RSVP to Jennifer Amormino at (517) 351-2420 or jamormi@cityofeastlansing.com. Donations can be made in advance (cash, check or charge) or at the door (cash or check only). Additional event information, including a list of silent auction items, can be found at www.elpl.org.

Proceeds from the evening’s event will go toward the purchasing of materials for the library collection, all-ages library programming and ELPL’s teen after school programs.

Schuler is a big fan of ALL libraries, so get out and support yours during National Library Week!
