(Almost) Trailer Tuesday: All-Star Pitcher John Smoltz

So the video for today’s Trailer Tuesday is not technically a trailer, but we’re an indie bookstore, so who says we have to stick to the rules?!

We have had great reason to rejoice in Lansing, because we have booked a signing with

Seriously, don’t you see the family resemblance?

All-Star Atlanta Braves pitcher (and likely future Hall of Famer) John Smoltz from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2nd! It’s an especially fitting event, because not only is Schuler a baseball-loving company (our staffers are hardcore fans!), but Smoltz and I both graduated from Lansing’s Waverly High School, so we’re practically related. (I’m sure he’ll agree our blood-bond is at least on a 2nd cousin level.)

Anyways, John will be visiting us to sign copies of his new book Starting and Closing: Perseverance, Faith, and One More Year. This will be a ticketed event, with tickets available at our Eastwood Towne Center location when the store opens on Monday, May 21. Tickets are only available free with purchase of Starting and Closing. Mr. Smoltz will not be signing memorabilia. Photography will be permitted.

Tickets may be reserved over the phone by calling the store at 517.316.7495. Those who have already purchased a copy through Schuler Books need only show their receipt to obtain tickets. Click through here to visit the Facebook event page.

I can’t quite figure out how to embed this video (I’m a bookseller, not a techie!), so click through here to check out an interview with John on CBS This Morning
